Prenatal Massage

During the nine months of pregnancy, the body goes through many changes.
Weight distribution changes dramatically, causing the body’s skeletal and muscular
structure to take on new challenges to maintain balance and proper alignment.

As a result, chronic discomfort can result from an increased spinal curve,
altered posture and muscular imbalance.  Through specialized training, certified
prenatal therapists can help the mother-to-be deal with these and other changes.

Specific guidelines are followed to protect both mother and baby, however, a
thorough evaluation by a qualified obstetrician is highly recommended to rule out
any conditions that might contraindicate the use of massage therapy during
your pregnancy.

Frequency of sessions is dependent on individual circumstances and the stage
of the pregnancy.  Your therapist will work directly with you to determine your
needs and establish a recommended treatment plan.
